No time this week for something new, so I pulled this gal out from my files. She's 100% digital and changes flavor with just a touch. Go ahead... try it! Happy New Year!
that is so cool carla! love this lady! like the close up view and the colours you chose and the style. Always love your work!!! Have the happiest of New Years, carla.
She's a frisky thing, isn't she, changing colours according to mood. Reminds me almost of those dolls where you can make their hair long or short. Very ingenious.
Happy New year Carla!! I'm with everyone else...this is pretty cool. And my you have been a busy gal. I absolutley love the new banner and see you are setting up a new web site. Cool! Have a wonderful night.
this may be one you already have, but it's a great idea. the roll-over is the icing on the cake. i just saw your holiday entry, the is great it looks like scratch board the way you did it, very nice. where did you find those markers? i'm really wanting to try them after seeing what you did. also, i agree with what you said about drawing time. there never seems to be enough quality creation time, and it is very special when it can be found.
WOW - I would love to know how you did THAT! That's so much fun - great illo... also I loved your gel pen girl below - again, the intricacy is something I wish I could put more of into my drawings... I am not so painstaking though! :) Happy New Year
brava carla! i love your illo! thanks for your kinfd comment maybe I'm not so original if in my broccolino english ( pure goodfellas style) I wish you a fantastic new year but i do it !
You are always full of surprises! I LOVE this one, I didn't do any holiday blogs this year as I also took time off! Happy New year, love those colours on your Holiday one!
Happy New Year, Carla! This is an ingenious picture, and cleverly connected to the topic. I'd say it was about "the flavour of Love," except she has such an ambivalent/nonchalant look to her :). The composition is wonderful - very strong use of black shapes and spot colours, and a sense of being made as a print!
Love the red lips and the blue eye shadow...takes me back to fun days gone by.
Thanks for dropping by to visit the kitties blog and mine. We enjoy your visits and your blog...luv you web site also. Will you be selling some of your artwork or copies of your work?
Happy New Year to you and your family! The Whippy Curly Tails in the Toasty South =^..^=
This is SO different from your customary illustrations! You've been hiding at least some of your skills (the interactive wizardry) under a bushel! I'm not sure she looks particularly sweet, though.
Carla, I have to say this was a surprise. This image is very bold and it took command of my screen - I guess I am use to seeing the very elegant and serene women you illustrate. I love the colors and how she commands attention. Also, the banner is absolutely beautiful! Beautiful color choice.
Happy New year Carla! It feels good when you experiment..:)I like the yellow transparency that you did to cover misteriously her eye. Also, BEAUTIFUL new banner! -Marjorie Ann/Majeak Ann
Wow! This one is utterly different from a lot of your previous pieces in style. I must say that I like this one quite a bit, but, don't let up on the Egyptian-themed ones. I love those.
Spot on with your observations. Thanks for the kind words. Your older work as well as your new shows a unique flavor and creative power that you have in illustration. Looking forward to next week!
Wow, what a nice surprise. You've really raised the bar for us all with this one. I can't wait to see how long it takes for people to catch on to this interactive illo thing.

funky looking, although I do see a resemblance to your own photo somwehat (we all end up drawing ourselves subconciously)
