Inspire Me Thursday - Abstract Art

Hurray for Misty and Melanie! On top of coming up with all kinds of fun, exciting, and inspiring challenges each week, they've now set up a new and improved site for Inspire Me Thursday.

This week's challenge was to create a piece of abstract art...not easy to do without ending up with a great big mess! I decided to just choose a few colors and go where they took me. I ended up with this Martian garden done in acrylics and gel markers.

Oh that was my first thought, it would make a beautiful fabric print! It also reminds me of those beautiful chinese and indian shadow theatres where the dark shapes dance against the glow of the lit screen. Enthralling!

It looks like you really let yourself go on this one. Still has your attention to detail, but I can see wider hand movements creating a very sweeping and fluid piece!

Ah yes...that red planet. So full of growth potential. All we need now is for Arnold (total recall) to actually go there and thaw all that ice so that there will be enough oxygen for plant life.
