Some things fade some never do
Like the names of me and you
In my skin indigo blue

Waving boys in navy blue

Scratched in scrimshaw tusk and tooth

Some things fade some never do
These lines of love to you

The verse of life is blank I think
We fill in in invisible ink
It comes to sight, it surfaces
When held up to the light of love

this topic fits your style better than anything.. very lovely drawing!
Simply stunning & wonderful
She is sexy! I like how you show only her mouth and part of the nose. Very cool...
Beautiful line work Carla. However, I'd hate to be the tatoo artist - it looks like it would take a lot of time!
I love enlarging your illo's for a close view. Very inspiring with your designs. They flow so easly.
Beautiful, beautiful - I love (as usual) your artwork - you have so many details - wow!
Great stuff, Carla.
This is splendid, Carla. What precision and what beauty. Let's say I prefer the elaborate tattoo on a drawing rather than on the skin: this is really a piece of art.
I love the intricate detail of this piece.
Wow - who needs clothes with a tatto like this?
Amazing detail and concept.
Wow! Great drawing!
Great idea, Carla, and it looks like it was tons of fun to produce! There's something a bit Klimt or Schiele-ish about her proportions. Very elegant.
Wow Carla this is really amazing! Can imagine how much effort you took. Simply stunning!
great drawing! I like the intricate patterns...and the song, too
Amazing illustration Carla! Beautiful detail and the lines of her body are so graceful and exotic.
lovely ink =)
A fantastic and beautifuol drawing, all thouse delicate lines, wov!
Carla, you make tattoo looks tasteful!
Very delicate work! Very nice, on others! This is a challenge!
Very cool!

The Tart
Do you sketch it in pencil first? My goodness, the details. I wouldn't have the patience for the details but I'm glad you do because it's like your signature.
Intricately elaborate but not too over the top, this is why I like most of your pieces, and I really like this one. Especially the details from her lower back. How long did it take you to design this? I have been to a tattoo parlor with my friends too many times, and I never come out with one. I cannot decide what to have. It's just too big of a pressure for me, knowing that it will stay on me forever. So, given the choice I can't have one, if I can never make up my mind.
fabulous illo - i'm glad you kept the color scheme simple - it's really great. great choice of poem, too.
(ps i love your 5 senses illo as well.)
carla… your drawing is amazing!! one of my faves!
Wow! This does capture the feel of a tattoo perfectly.
And the stylised feel! I like it.
Gorgeous, as always! So sensual and lovely!!
My tattoo is farther down in my blog it is not the mask :)
you have design a wonderful tattoo!! well done!
oh wow, this is absolutely gorgeous. nice choice of colour against the black and white. i love how there is such intricacy and detail yet you have managed to keep a sense of space.
Wow, Carla--This is stunning. I just spent the last five minutes staring at the full-sized (zoomed-in) image. The details are so intricate. The shape of the design falls beautifully against the curves of her body. Fantastic work.
Carla, it's gorgeous. I love how the tattos follows the contours of her body, they really look part of her skin. Beautiful detail, too. How long did it take to work on this piece? And what is the finished size. I am curious as to how big - or small - your are comfortable working.
PS: The black and white are perfectly suited to this piece, allowing the subtle background throw the subject forawrd. it really pops. Bravo!
Beautiful in its intricacy and design-where have you heard that before, I guess I am repeating what others have said, anyway, it's also fascinating, any square inch of the design could be a fine tattoo in it's own right.
Wow! you went after this one girl! Have a good week!
Wow, wow, wow. Is all I can say.
love
This is beautiful! So intricate - nice work!
I am blown away. I didn't really get much from this topic until I saw yours! Beatiful!!!
OOooo Carla! Sexy! Very cool piece. Tattoos should be works of art. Some I've seen clearly are not, but they all should be. This design of yours really shows how tattoos should be worn as well as how they should become part of who you are! Beautiful job!!
Wow, fantastic detail! I do have to admit though, when your page first opened, I thought her elbow was a boob and she had some serious sag. Whoa!
No, you would never make a saggy boob picture...all apologies! I have a saggy boob of a mind, I guess.
I like the way you illustrate. Your illo always feature feminism and female life :D

What really makes this work so well is the contrast between textured and plain areas. As always, you have fantastic technique when texturing - the variety is amazing. None of this would matter if the composition itself wasn't also strong - I love where you've chosen to cut it at the top and the bottom - really nicely framed. Excellent!
Amazing!!
Way Cool! You are very popular. Good for you!
wow wow wow amazing pen and ink work!!
WOW!!! I love this!!! It's amazing! I wanted to do a woman seen from behind with a tattoo on her back, but now I'm having doubts, your art is soooo amazing!
Hey there, I really love your art work. I do a weekly(ish) post for artists that I enjoy and find in the blogosphere. Would you be interested in posting some of your art there? Please contact me at cubicle.reverend@gmail.com

Wow Carla, this is just beautiful, your attention to detail is remarkable. I have to agree the way you "styled" her hair works so well with the entire design. If I was a braver woman, I would love the elbow tat.
Awesome
makes me want to be an illustrated woman
Another wonderful illo. As well as beautful, this figure is quite mysterious. The detail work is stunning.
What a great sensual illo! Beautiful!
wow! great tattoo!
Exquisite linework, Carla. You certainly deserve all those comments.
Gorgeous! Beautiful work as usual! The hair is also magnificent!
Very alluring! Nice pen work!
Wow this is great. Wonderful job!
Is the most beautiful illustration for this topic! Love, love, love your style! Is perfect.
I bet all that detail over so much area would hurt like hell! Great style!
Sexy, beautiful. Wonderful job.
I don't care for this much tattoo on someones body. BUT, this is beautiful, the details are fasinating!
Beautiful and graceful and very feminine. You put a lot of work into this!
oh, i love this work! I want that tattoo!
So willowy elegant!
so sexy and feminine.
i could stare at this all day...
Great design and lovely quote. Had to cut down screen time lately due to eye burn-out. I've got a celtic sunburst on my left shoulder. Me scorpio too. ..::o
Great illustration... beautiful, sensual.
Thanks for dropping by my blog and commenting. Didn't mean to come off so negative... The topic just didn't inspire me this week. I have friends and relatives with art on their parts. As in other matters, I'm pro-choice: It's just that I choose not to have tattoos put on my body. But I support the right of others to choose to do so.
Very cool! Tattoo parlors around the world would love to have you designing for them!!
Wow, this is so detailed and intricate. The black and white only is perfect for this illustration, it looks great.
Liz Jones is right, you'd do wonders in a tattoo parlor!
That is one breathtaking image! Nice work, Carla!
the sing song of the word tattoo starting to echo in my head and the image twirled around and around dancing on her skin.
^see all above and repeat^
I LOVE THIS!!!
