Illustration Friday - Match

This that would greet -- an hour ago --
Is quaintest Distance -- now --
Had it a Guest from Paradise --
Nor glow, would it, nor bow --

Had it a notice from the Noon
Nor beam would it nor warm --
Match me the Silver Reticence --
Match me the Solid Calm --

-Emily Dickinson (1830 - 1886)

(acrylic on 18" x 24" gallery wrapped canvas)

Wow wow wow and double triple wow.

I am sooooo in love with this painting I can't even tell you.
I wish I could look at it every day.

I am crazy about landscapes with clouds and trees and somehow you have made it extraordinary.

Terrific job!

Carla, I love this painting. It's so rich in colour and texture. You have demostrated another side of your artistic talent.

By the way, is that some purple flower in the foreground? Can't tell in this size.

Excellent composition. Also, lovely change on your header:)

A quiet place. I love a painting with an old country road vanishing into the horizon. Just a bit of the farmhouse to see-sweet. Great tree and shadowing as well.

The poem is so right for this piece, beautiful!

The field looks and feels like it is swaying in the breeze as if autumn is around the corner.
the colors are luscious and painting a path is a sign of welcome. Very inviting. I am so pleased to see this Carla!
Will you be painting more like this?

Wow, Carla, this should be hanging in a museum! Your landscapes are so inviting, and this one is no exception. I wonder ~ were you plein air painting or is this from memory or a photograph? It's just gorgeous and I would love to see more like this!!

Hey, Carla! What a solid calm this scene is. I'll be going up to the mountains this weekend and I think I'll get into nature that gives a similar feel as this--the profound lack of civilization. But the whole place will be trees. Your work with acrylic is very impressive. Paint and brushes still confuse my creative sense.

Beautiful clouds and irises. And that path would be a great one to jog upon and see what lies within that grove of trees on the far rise. Way nice.
