Illustration Friday - Wind

Moving Forward

The deep parts of my life pour onward,
as if the river shores were opening out.
It seems that things are more like me now,
That I can see farther into paintings.
I feel closer to what language can't reach.
With my senses, as with birds, I climb
into the windy heaven, out of the oak,
in the ponds broken off from the sky
my falling sinks, as if standing on fishes.

- Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926)

This is a return engagement of an image I posted about a year ago. I decided that if I played around with the colors a bit, I could submit it to Penelope's Black & Orange Contest, and with the windswept mane, tail, and hair, it would also suit this week's IF topic.

Happy Halloween!

i liked the 1st one but when i compare it side by side with the new one something about that molten mass of a moon in the second one i lov, it breaths life into it more, nice remake of the original.

I didn't see this piece when you had it posted the first time, i'll have to check out the original.

The big beautiful harvest moon is a perfect backdrop for the horse and her mysterious rider. Lots of elegance in this Halloween treat and beautiful, really enjoyed the poem as well with this.

I like this new version better also.
It just glows.
Seems to me you had a bad cold this time last year also. I just got over mine so hopefully that will be it for winter.
Get lots of rest, drink fluids, and send yourself some loving energy.
The monoprints are fun to do and I think we need to try something different every once in a while to keep the spontaneity alive.

That painting speaks much of feeling free :)
This version looks more mysterious and ungrippable (yes, that is probably not a word) to a point where one´s own dream can become bigger. The color contrasts are wonderful!

Beautiful, powerful image, Carla. The brilliant orange sun, the red highlights, and the black make for an arresting image.
